Solar Street Lights
A street Lighting System is a lighting system for the illumination of streets, roads, squares, and common public areas. It uses the sun’s light to work. It is the complete set of Solar Panel, Lithium Battery, Light, Charge Controller & Poles.
Solar street light is used to light Streets, Highways, Parks, Gardens, and To Secure Boundary Walls of a Factory, School, and College Campus. Some remote areas such as hill areas of Himachal Pradesh and Assam, College Campuses, National Highway Roads, Parking Areas, and Public Places in Villages such as Temples, Rivers, etc. do not get appropriate electricity as they are connected to the grid. Solar street light is a boon for such places. It offers a perfect solution for the illumination of streets & squares and crossroads located in areas that are not connected to the power grid.
Types of Solar Street Light
1. Fully Integrated: A Fully integrated street light is also known as All in one Light. All components together in one device such as Solar Panel, Battery, and Lights. It is a completely built-up light where all components are inbuilt except for the pole.
2. Semi-Integrated: A Semi-integrated Light comes fitted with the Panel and battery light integrated. However, the Pole needs to be fitted.
3. Split Solar Street Light: In a Split Solar Light, all components are separate and need assembly. Lead Acid batteries are used in these types of lights.
How does a Solar Street Light Works?
A Solar street light switches on itself whenever it sunsets in the evening, Similarly – In the morning, it switches off automatically. This feature is called the dusk to dawn feature.
Components used in Solar Street lights
Solar Panel – It is used to charge batteries during the day from the sunlight.
Battery – The type of battery used in solar street lights is Either Lithium-Ion Or Lithium Phosphate. These are maintenance-free batteries with a life of up to 10 years.
Lights – It is Led light and varies with power requirements from 9 Watt, 12 Watt, 15 watts, 18 watts, and 24 watts.
Pole – It is a structure in which All components of solar street light are fixed with the height of the pole depending upon user requirements, it could be from 5 meters, 8 meters, 10 meters, or 15 meters.
